Principle #1 – Respect rights to privacy
Evizone recognizes that individuals, companies, government and non-government organizations have legitimate reasons and, often, legal requirements and fiduciary responsibilities for maintaining the confidentiality and privacy surrounding business critical information, intellectual property and other sensitive communications.
Evizone encrypts and decrypts all communications through the use of public key encryption. Each subscriber and subscriber guest is provided with their own personal encryption key that they alone receive. Evizone personnel do not have decrypted access to the information which individuals and companies are storing within the Evizone service. The messages created by Evizone subscribers are managed by the subscribers themselves and it is the subscriber who chooses who has access to their messages and documents and when they have access.
Principle #2 – Respect the law
Evizone’s managed and secure communications service is intended for the use of individuals, companies and organizations for the legitimate protection of confidentiality and privacy. Evizone will respect the law if a subscriber is using the service for illegal activities and will comply and cooperate with local police and government authorities as per the laws of the jurisdiction of the subscriber.
Principle #3 – Ensure that users own their own information
The subscribers making use of the Evizone service own all of the information they communicate using the Evizone service. The Evizone service facilitates the management and security of this information in a fashion whereby Evizone employees can manage the service without the need or ability to view subscriber content.
Principle #4 – Do not sell or provide subscriber information to third-parties
Subscribers registering with Evizone provide personal contact information to the service. This information is used by Evizone for subscriber identification. The information provided by and generated by the subscriber will never be sold or provided to a third party.
Principle #5 – Automatically enforce the subscriber’s access and retention policy
Evizone subscribers define the accessibility period in which documents and messages remain visible and the retention or archival period in which they are retained solely for the use of the owner. Evizone will ensure that when the accessibility period expires, only the owner has access. When the retention period expires, the documents and messages will not only be permanently deleted, they will not be accessible in any Evizone backups.
